Some days are good, yet some are overwhelmingly bad; and of course it’s on those bad days that you begin to worry and wonder what the hell you’re doing with your life. Those are the days when things you would have sworn by seem pointless or a waste of time.

The truth is that no matter how much of a good place we’re at in our lives, sometimes we do feel directionless, and it’s usually in those dark moments that our deadliest friend- Mr Doubt rears its head.

Of late, I’ve been on a roller coaster ride of emotions. One day I’m pumped up about the things I’m working on, and the next, I’m pondering what the hell it is that I’m doing. No doubt we all suffer from different levels of self-doubt from time to time, but I’m here to remind you all and myself that we should desist from sabotaging ourselves. There are enough naysayers out there already. We shouldn’t be our own buzz kill.

When I’m in one of those funky moods, I usually pull myself out of it by talking to friends who understand me and what I’m going through, but most importantly I try to re-evaluate my goals and remember why I started in the first place. If I’m still as passionate about my end goals as when I first started, then I know that I must keep going.

There’s a saying that goes- to see the light at the end of the tunnel, you need to keep walking through it in order to come out at the other side. I think I’ve paraphrased here, I guess I don’t remember the correct saying right at this moment, but I’m sure you get the gist.

So here’s to you and I, for whenever we’re at that weird space and need a boost of encouragement to lift our spirits- remember why you started!
