Summertime, and the leaving is easy.

Lize is jumping and she’s flying high…

So by now, you should have got the drift that I love to travel! I jumped on an aeroplane in late July and had a brilliant summer holiday in Hamburg, Germany. The events of day 1 are below.

We arrived in the afternoon and checked in at Barcelo Hotel. My room was lovely, but the view not so much. Still, I had a brilliant stay there on the 8th floor! I had the room all to myself. King bed, see through open shower glass doors, mini bar… I’ll be returning with a significant other for sure 😛

The underground trains were easy enough to understand and a few poses were called for!

First outing was to the Maritime Museum. It was an enlightening experience.

These ships in a glass bottle was reminiscent of Yinka Shonibare’s similar piece that was displayed at Trafalgar Square, London. You can read a previous post on the artist’s work here.

And then a scrumptious lunch.

Later that night, I had a lovely walk around the main hub of town and past the lake.

I loved every bit of the trip! Look out for my next post on what I got up to for the rest of the week long trip.
