I’ve always been a dreamer. Even seven years ago,

I’ve always been a dreamer.

Even seven years ago, when I decided to take my photography business seriously, I was already thinking ahead.

I remember imagining that perhaps one day, I’d have enough experience, knowledge and lessons of my own to be able to share them with other photographers finding their way too.

And now, somehow, I’m here. 🥹

It feels incredibly heartwarming — and, dare I say, I’m really proud of myself — to have reached a point in my career where I can begin giving back from everything I’ve learned through building and running a photography business.

So it was an absolute pleasure and honour to be invited by @UKBFTOG, in collaboration with @Wearestorytellhers, to join a panel at @FujifilmUK House of Photography last week.

And I couldn’t have asked for better company, sharing the panel with the brilliant @AmandaAkokhiaphotography and @Ch.ebenezer_, two incredibly talented photographers whose perspectives and experiences made the conversation all the richer.

The room was packed with more than 60 photographers, all eager to learn, grow and carve out their own paths in this industry.

Sitting there and sharing some of what these past seven years have taught me felt like such a full-circle moment.

It reminded me just how much can grow from simply deciding to take that first step.

Photography has allowed me to travel, work with incredible people, build a career I genuinely love and create a life that, at one point, existed only in my imagination.

And there’s still so much more I’m dreaming of.

So, if you’re reading this with a dream of your own, keep going. You don’t need to have the entire journey figured out. Just keep taking one step at a time.

Sometimes the life you’re dreaming about is simply waiting for you to begin. ❤️

📸Thanks to @rahimart_media for taking the first couple of photos and @krissjordanphotography for the others.

Photographers, someone not being able to afford yo

Photographers, someone not being able to afford you does not automatically mean you're too expensive.

And it definitely doesn't mean your next move should be a discount.

One of the hardest things to learn in business is that not every enquiry has to become a booking.

Know your costs. Know your margins. Know why you charge what you charge.

Once you understand your numbers, pricing conversations become a lot less emotional.
I'll be going much deeper into pricing, profitability and building a sustainable photography business at my next workshop.

One of the biggest shifts I made in my photography

One of the biggest shifts I made in my photography business was learning that making money and building a profitable business are not the same thing.

You can be booked every weekend and still be undercharging.

You can have your best revenue month ever and still have very little profit left.

You can raise your prices and still have prices that make absolutely no sense for your business.
The numbers have to work.

That's exactly why I created Pricing for Profit, to help photographers move away from guessing, following competitor pricing or making emotional decisions, and actually understand what they need to charge.

If you're ready to build your pricing around your business, not everyone else's, Pricing for Profit is available via the link in my bio.

Can we normalise talking about pricing? Not just

Can we normalise talking about pricing?

Not just how much to charge, but why you're charging it.
Too many photographers pull numbers from competitors, add a little, subtract a little, and hope for the best.

That's not a pricing strategy.

Your pricing should support your business, your goals, and the life you're trying to build, not just help you win bookings.

If pricing has always felt like guesswork, that's exactly what I help photographers fix with the Pricing for Profit Guide for Photographers

DM me PRICING and I'll point you in the right direction or simply click the link in my bio.

Some shoots just sit on the hard drive for far too

Some shoots just sit on the hard drive for far too long.

I finally got around to editing this one with Rian and I’m so glad I did because I still love how these images turned out.

Bright afternoon sun, a public garden, people picnicking around us and somehow we still managed to create exactly what we wanted.

The BTS and final images are on YouTube if you want to see how it all came together.

Photography started as a hobby more than 20 years

Photography started as a hobby more than 20 years ago. But it's far from that these days. It's now my passion and mission to transform how people see themselves through the art of photography. And I'm loving every single minute of it despite the ups and downs of running a business.
