Hello lovelies, so I know posts have been a bit slow in the past month, but I promise that things are about to get a whole lot better!

What I want to talk about today is DIY and I don’t mean the usual kind where you get to make something off of knick knacks that you already have. What I’ll be talking about is getting stuff done you’d have normally relied on others for.

So let me share what happened to me last weekend. As per blog duties, I needed to take new photos for my upcoming birthday post(it’s in 3 days guys!!). Yes, I’m a Leo baby if you didn’t know 🙂

Anyway, I wanted to do a dope photo shoot, I mean who doesn’t like to look nice in their birthday pics? So yeah, I contacted several friends that usually help me with my photography needs but unfortunately, none of them were available. So I thought to myself, do I try to ask again on Monday(today) which would be cutting it thin, or do I just forget about it altogether? However, being the “not taking a defeat easily” kinda person that I am, there was one other option- doing it myself.

Now, I’ve actually done photo shoots myself in the past like in this shoot where I talked about Sport Luxe and again where I talked about my Casual OOTD style, but the thing is that I’m actually a shy person and the thought of having to do it myself while people walk around in the street is totes awkward! However, I remembered how Margaret Zhang the uber talented blogger and photographer started. In the reality series about bloggers in Australia, at the time, she took all her blog pics herself and they were friggin’ amazing so I encouraged myself and planned to just go for it on Saturday. So on Saturday, I did my makeup, and walked to my town centre and scouted a suitable spot for the shoot and although it took me up to an hour to get everything that I wanted(a lot of running back and forth in my heels! plus the self timer on my camera takes only 1 shot at a time so you can imagine the stress), the outcome was totally worth it! Mean, it was not easy, I do not kid you. I am just happy that they were all in focus because if they weren’t, now that would have been a bummer.

Anyway, I went to another area(Shoreditch) and took the photos in this post too. Don’t you just love all the colours and graffiti? Yeah, Shoreditch is my favourite place now, a post about it will be coming in the future.

If you follow me on Snapchat(snaplize) which you should! You’d have seen the behind the scenes already.

So what can you take away from today’s post?……. Do It Yourself!

Sometimes we can’t rely on others to help us get things done because they also have a life and other commitments, so in those situations boo, you’ve just gotta do the damn thing!

Tell me, what things have you had to do yourself lately or what would you like to do but are scared/embarrassed/awkward about doing? Leave them in the comment box below!

See you on the 4th with my uber dope birthday post….. there will be a giveaway 😀
