I can honestly say that I was impressed by most of the designers and collections at the show.

It was very inspiring to have had a first hand witness of what the African fashion industry has to offer. From modern and chic styles with African influences and aesthetics to the clean cut and Gothic impressions, the designers brought their A-game to Kensington Olympia where the fashion show was held.

Also, you can view my personal style choice to the event after rummaging through my closet to come up with something that both looked good and felt comfortable enough for me to run around in while doing interviews and taking pictures and video footage of the event.

Designer- Sylvia Owori

This collection reminded me of a forest. The music had birds chirping and whistling, and the collection was heavily influenced by primary colours. Lots of blues, yellows and greens were used on the garments. It also featured slits and cut out designs. The word that came to mind was REGALE

Designer- Fyyfe

This collection seemed to have been influenced by Japanese or East Asian influences. However, the music was in dub step style; and while looking at the designs, the word that came to mind because of some of the designs was DARK CHIC.

Designer- Vaishali Morjaria Creations

This collection was by an Asian designer and also used lots of dark colours. The word that came to mind while viewing this collection was ENIGMATIC

Designer- Koko Fashion

This collection was hip, young and fresh! The models sashayed down the runway to the sounds of afrobeats. Also, it was the only other designer of the day that showcased men’s fashion and used male models.
