The Yearning
I look into the distance
finding the one
the meaning
but it eludes me time and time again.
My heart yearns for that wholesomeness
I see the images in my head but just as I stretch to reach,
It’s a blur all again.
I feel the goosebumps on my skin
they give me this chill.
I know it’s out there
yet its gaze seems unattainable.
I think of the time and when it will be
but also wonder if it will ever be.
All I have now are my thoughts and hopes
Will it ever be enough?
I think I see what I seek
but just as soon as I begin to feel the buzz
it evades again.
It’s a constant chase of cattle in the wilderness.
that untamed terrain that seems unending.
My heart yearns, my soul seeks, but my eyes do not find.
This emptiness is beginning to wear me out
Its sinkers in my soul is crushing me down
How long will I float?
I don’t know.
Perhaps I can try till my dying breath?
but even that sounds like mourning before one’s death.
Tired of waiting, but wait I must.
Why do we spend most of our lives trying to look for the one that will complete us?
We yearn because we’re taught that we are nought without another.
We were never meant to walk the earth alone.
