Last Sunday, I attended the Afropunk festival for the first time and the vibe of the event was amazing. Nothing celebrates Black art and culture like it did. Walking towards the venue, it was wonderful seeing everyone brilliantly dressed in their finest. Creativity was limitless.

Although the festival which was initially birthed in the US to celebrate alternative Black culture now accepts other genres and people, it’s still hella Black and proud; and I loved it! The headliner on the Green stage was Lianne La Havas and on the Red stage, Willow Smith. There was also performances from Nao, Sate, Petit Noir, Connie Constance, Kiah, Mahalia, Black Orchid. For the DJ sets, there was Hannah Faith, Clara Amfo, Gal Dem, Born n Bred, Jamz Supernova.

Enjoy the awesomeness in images.

PS. I forgot to mention, if you’re ever looking for event or festival tickets, I’d say check Shoobs first, they might have some deals going on. Luckily, my friend checked there just before we bought our tickets and they had a 2 for 1 ticket going, so we only paid half the price 😀
